Lithium Systems Limited – Email Encryption Service

Due to GDPR and to adhere to IT security best practice, we have implemented an email encryption service. Our secure email system will be used whenever we send passwords or other sensitive account information.

Office365/Outlook

If you receive a secure email and you are using Office 365 and the latest version of Outlook, you will see the email has been encrypted however the decryption process happens automatically and you will be able to read the contents as normal. No further action is required.

Other Email Service

If you are not using Office 365 and the latest version of Outlook you will need to use a different process to complete the decryption process.

The following screenshots will show the process you need to follow to be able to read an encrypted email.

You will receive an email as per the screenshot below. It advises you that you have received an encrypted email from someone within Lithium.

You should click the “Read the message” link which will take you to the Office 365 email portal which can be seen in the next screenshot. You will be taken to the Office 365 email portal where you can sign in with the relevant credentials to access the encrypted email. If you do not have a suitable account to sign in then you can click the “sign in with a one-time passcode” option.

If you click on the “sign in with a one-time passcode” option you will be taken to a new page which contains a box to enter the one-time passcode. You will receive a new email which contains a unique passcode which can be used to access the contents of the encrypted email.

This passcode expires after 15 mins however you can click on the link to generate a new passcode which will be sent to you in a new email.

When you enter the one-time passcode you will be taken to a page where you can read the contents of the encrypted email as seen in the screenshot below.
